ZipRecruiter does not offer any free plans. LinkedIn allows employers to use job postings to list their open positions for free, but they must pay to sponsor the listing if they want better visibility.
ZipRecruiter offers a four-day free trial, which means you can post just one job posting. As soon as your trial ends, you will lose access to candidate information unless you continue with a paid plan. LinkedIn offers a 7-30 day free trial for its paid plans, provided you are a new user.
Pricing for LinkedIn and ZipRecruiter is difficult to locate because you have to give your information or start a trial to access pricing. When we contacted the ZipRecruiter sales team, we received no response and were fired trying to retrieve prices for each of their plans. After extensive investigation of real customer reviews, this is a common complaint about its sales and customer support teams.
LinkedIn’s pricing for its paid plans depends on the number of jobs you post, how often you hire, and the size of your organization. For this reason, you should contact their sales team. Based on customer reviews, large recruiting firms can expect to pay thousands of dollars.
CV in the database
While users can upload their resumes to LinkedIn and apply for jobs with a single click (depending on employer settings), it’s not really a resume database like ZipRecruiter, which has over 32 million CVs in their files. LinkedIn says it operates globally and has more than 740 million active members.
Candidate assessment tools
Both LinkedIn and ZipRecruiter have screening questions to help screen out candidates who don’t meet your basic requirements. The latter has decisive questions to automatically hide candidates who do not answer the question or who answer it incorrectly. LinkedIn has built-in skill assessments to validate a candidate’s prowess in certain areas.
Number of job boards he posts on
ZipRecruiter posts your job posting to over 100 different job sites, including veteran-specific sites. LinkedIn does not advertise the job to third parties, but promoted posts will send out emails or push notifications to match candidates.
For sponsored jobs from ZipRecruiter, you must purchase TrafficBoost Credits, unless you have the Pro plan, which includes 100 credits. A TrafficBoost is good for 100 views of your ad or up to 30 days, whichever comes first. Buy only the credits you need, as they expire after three months.
LinkedIn sponsored listings on a pay-per-click basis. You set the budget and can adjust it at any time.
