July Program Family and Consumer Sciences


The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following program in Family and Consumer Sciences for July 2022. This program is offered by Martha B. Maddox, Family and Consumer Sciences Officer the consumption.

Food Storage 101: Canning and Freezing – July 14, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and repeated from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a Zoom webinar.

In this course, participants learn the basics of safe food preservation with freezing (providing tips and guidelines on freezing), water bath canning, and pressure canning. This webinar will take place on July 14, 2022, for a morning session and an evening session.

The registration fee for both sessions will be $15.00. Participants must Register online before July 11. Attendees receive a detailed booklet on canning and freezing guidelines. After attendees register through Eventbrite, they’ll receive a confirmation email with information about attending the Zoom webinar (must register through Zoom to attend the workshops). Classes are limited to 50. There are no refunds for registration fees.
